Why am i getting function error and error 1603?

Do you have Windows 10?
If yes, the game is not compatible, I tried several things and nothing worked.
With Windows 7, no issue the game runs fine.

Can't install the game, it seems that the system can't access some files from the data folder

What steps have you done to install the game?
Did you mount the file Space_Trouble.cue or Space_Trouble.img with Daemon tools?

The installation can't access some files inside the data folder from the game image (Data5, Data6 and System.noa), and it also crashes when I try to manually copy those files

I have just tested the files, and the install process went fine (selecting the third option (T) and checking all the boxes).
Of course, I chose to install it outside the folder Program files to avoid rights issue.

I mount the IMG file with Daemon tools, did you use another tool to mount it?

I also used Daemon Tools and chose the same install options.

It's giving me this error halfway the installation process.

I tried several things but I can't reproduce the error you have. The installation works with my W7/W10 VM (virtual box and vmplayer)

Did you have an error during the extraction?
